Construction of Akyem Oda town, bypass roads resume
The Akyem Oda town and bypass roads whose construction was halted in 2021 for lack of funds, have been reactivated thanks to the intervention by the Member of Parliament (MP) for Oda, Alexander Akwasi Acquah.
Mr Acquah has, through his own resources, given a cheque for GH¢1 million to the construction firm undertaking the project, Jo Mint Associate Limited, to pre-finance the venture.

The contractor has completed the two- kilometre bypass road linking the main Oda-Agona Swedru road at SDA Junction with the Oda-New Abirem road at Sabbah Sawmills by applying the second bitumen on the surface of the road.
The other roads in the heart of Oda are at advanced stages of completion, as they await the application of bitumen on the surface. In an interview with the Daily Graphic at Oda last Friday, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Jo Mint Associate Limited, Joseph Mintah, he expressed optimism about completing the entire project by the end of this year to give Oda a facelift.
He commended Mr Acquah for his commitment to the development of his constituency. He, however, appealed to the Minister of Roads to pay him and other contractors undertaking various road projects in the country to enable them to complete other roads under construction on schedule.
