Dr Jehu-Appiah presents Letters of Credence to Belarus
Ghana’s Ambassador to the Russian Federation, Dr Koma Steem Jehu-Appiah, has reaffirmed Ghana’s commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation with Belarus, especially in the area of trade, with Ghana serving as the hub to access West African markets for Belarus.
Dr Jehu-Appiah said that other key pillars to explore between the two countries were Agriculture, Education and Renewable energy, in line with the ‘Big Push’ and the ’24-Hour Economy under the Reset agenda of the President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama.
The Ghanaian Ambassador made the disclosures when he officially presented his Letters of Credence to the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, in Minsk, as Ghana’s Ambassador to the Republic of Belarus.
Ambassador Jehu-Appiah was appointed in October 2025 as the Resident Ambassador in Moscow with concurrent accreditation to Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Moldova and Belarus.
While in Belarus, the Ambassador also engaged the Foreign Affairs Minister, Maxim Ryzhenkov; the Health Minister, Mr Aleksandr Khodzhaev, and the Director of the National Export Promotion Centre of Belarus, Nikolai Borisevich.
Ties
Receving the Ambassador, President Lukashenko said his country had always cherished the warm ties shared with Ghana and he was keen to further deepen it.
He said with Ghana’s renewed efforts at prioristing agriculture, Belarus looked forward to strengthen its trade relationship in agriculture and fertiliser, as well as heavy machinery which would form the main focus of the relationship.
