Eco-friendly real estate properties key to reducing carbon emissions — Lakeside

A Marketing Officer at Lakeside Estate Ltd, Daniel Deku, has underscored the need to make real estate projects eco-friendly. 

Speaking to the Daily Graphic during the Daily Graphic/GREDA Home Fair in Accra, he said providing recreational facilities with elements such as green spaces, community gardens, among others, as Lakeside had done, could help to improve air quality and support biodiversity.

“By offering on-site options for outdoor activity, such as Lakeside’s recreational Marina Park, these amenities help to lower the community's overall carbon footprint.

“The Lakeside Marina Park offers activities such as jet skiing, swimming, and mini-golf, open to both residents and the public,” he added. 

Fair

The three-day fair, which was powered by MTN, was jointly organised by the Graphic Communications Group Ltd (GCGL) and the Ghana Real Estate Developers Association (GREDA).

It was on the theme: “Technology-enabled and eco-friendly housing: Now and the future”.

The fair, which was a one-stop shop for developers, financial institutions and technology firms to showcase their products and services to the public, saw prospective clients thronging the mall to make enquiries.

Mr Deku said the fair had been impressive from the first day and expressed optimism about closing deals from the protective buyers he had interacted with during the fair. 

Space

On Lakeside’s value proposition, Mr Deku said what sets it apart from competitors is the space it provides to its clients.

“We not only provide well-designed homes, but also ensure ample space around each property.

This allows residents the freedom to expand as their needs change,” he said. 

He added that in addition to housing, Lakeside Estate had recreational amenities to help reduce carbon emissions.

He announced that currently, his outfit was developing the Lakeside Community 9 or Lakeside Hills, which included a sports complex, parks and a picturesque lake.
