Essikado St Mark’s Anglican School undergoes massive renovation

The St Mark Anglican School in Essikado, Takoradi, has undergone renovation as part of efforts to improve teaching and learning in the school, one of the oldest basic schools in the community.

The comprehensive renovation works, addressed critical challenges, including leaking roofs, damaged blackboards, broken doors and windows and cracked floors.

It also introduced significant improvements, such as a fully functional washroom, a reliable mechanised borehole for clean water, and a revitalised learning environment tailored to meet the needs of over 500 students and teachers.

It will also serve as a valuable resource for the Essikado community as its design allows it to double as a venue for social events, further expanding its impact on the local community.

The renovation was through the sponsorship of a power-producing company, Karpowership Ghana, under its initiative to empower communities through education and its mission to support quality education and advance Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4, which focuses on ensuring inclusive and equitable education for all.

This is Karpowership Ghana’s second major school renovation project in Takoradi, further underscoring the company’s dedication to enhancing educational facilities in Ghana.

The first project was at the Rhynner Paul Anglican school in the Ngyeresia community.
