The bottle and sachet water factory is the Ga Central Municipality’s manifestation of the One District, One Factory (1D1F) initiative of the current government, which will, among other benefits, ensure access to clean water and improved public health, employment opportunities and economic growth.
Inaugurating the factory on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, Ms Botchwey, the former Member of Parliament for the Anyaa -Sowutuom Constituency from 2013 to 2020, said the establishment of the water factory represented more than just a business venture and embodied a collective vision of sustainable local development and economic empowerment.
Industrialisation
“This initiative aligns perfectly with Ghana’s industrialisation agenda and demonstrates how local governments can take concrete steps towards economic self-sufficiency,” she indicated.
The Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration Minister stated that the water project was significant in an era where youth unemployment remained one of the most pressing challenges that the country was facing, adding
“This factory stands as a beacon of hope, as it will create direct employment opportunities for our young people and generate indirect jobs through its value chain from distribution to retail.”
She said the project would more than contribute to the Ga Central Municipal Assembly’s revenue base which would enable the assembly to further invest in community development projects.

“This facility is not just a building; it is a beacon of opportunity and progress for this municipality. It has been designed to produce high-quality bottles and sachet water that will meet international standards. We are committed to ensuring that our products are accessible and affordable to all, he assured.”
Mr Tsegah also gave an assurance that the facility would be managed sustainably and responsibly, so it played a pivotal role in improving the welfare of the communities within the municipality and beyond.
