GHANSU donates blood to support National Blood Bank
The Ghana National Supporters Union (GHANSU) has organised a blood donation exercise to support the national blood bank at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH) to help save lives.
In all, more than 100 GHANSU members from across the country converged on its national office at Tesano in Accra to donate blood last Wednesday.
Saving lives
The President of GHANSU, Abraham Boakye, aka One Man Supporter, told the Daily Graphic during the exercise that the gesture was not only to support the national blood bank, but also to help save lives.
He stressed that GHANSU was committed to supporting the nation in various ways beyond its core mandate of supporting sporting activities.
The initiative demonstrates GHANSU's commitment to contributing to national development and supporting worthy causes.
Call to action
For his part, an official of the National Blood Service, Felix Tetteh, described blood donation as a national duty and urged all Ghanaians to follow GHANSU's example.
He expressed gratitude to GHANSU for answering the call to donate blood and help save lives.
Partnership
GHANSU seized the opportunity to pledge its support for GOIL Ghana PLC for sponsoring the blood donation exercise.
