Speaking at the media launch of the GCK-Ghana, Kumasi, a Senior Medical Officer with the Agogo Presbyterian Hospital, Dr Samuel Adjei, said the first day of the medical outreach programme, which would be held at the Prempeh Assembly Hall in Kumasi, would be dedicated solely to maternal and child health.

He said the team would attend to pregnant women from six months and above and children aged one day to six months on July 21, 2024. From July 22-24, 2024, he said the team would hold a general medical screening, including dental and eye care services to the general public.

He said patrons would also benefit from free surgeries for all conditions and medication throughout the period and entreated the general public to take an active part in the medical outreach programme.

He said some of the medical teams would be at Heroes Park at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on July 23, and on July 24, 2024, the team will be at Brofoyedru, near Kumasi. In addition, he said the ministry would extend the same services to prison inmates in Kumasi. The beneficiary prisons in Kumasi are the Kumasi Central and Manhyia prisons.

Purpose

The National Overseer of the Deeper Life Bible Church, Pastor Edward K. Duodu, for his part, said the purpose of the crusade was to use technology and modern communication channels to reach millions across the globe with the gospel.

He said the GCK “aims to reach every corner of the earth with the message of hope and redemption.” He said in these times of global turmoil and moral decline, “it is imperative that we set aside our denominational differences and unite in our mission to save souls and populate the Kingdom of God.”

He added that the state of today’s world with wars and relentless quest for supremacy alongside the moral decay affecting the youth, “calls for a profound spiritual awakening. We need a major revival to sweep across this generation and shake the very foundation of this world so that God’s name may be exalted.”

Accordingly, he said the GCK was a powerful vehicle for realising the vision of spreading the gospel of salvation.

He said part of the event would include an impact academy targeted at students from secondary schools to tertiary education level, national service personnel and young professionals.

He said the impact academy would feature a plenary session on spiritual, academic and professional success. The gospel crusade would start from July 25-30, 2024, at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.

Business Opportunity

The Chief Executive of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly, Samuel Pyne, was grateful to the GCK for bringing the event to Kumasi, which he said aside from bringing salvation to lost souls, would also open business opportunities to the city dwellers.

He said those who would be attending the crusade would need accommodation, feeding and transportation throughout their stay in the city and this, he said, would also create an opportunity for these service providers to also benefit from the event.

As such, he said the organisers were not only winning souls but also providing jobs for the people, thus meeting both the physical and spiritual needs of the people. He pledged the assembly’s support to the organisers and assured them of their security throughout their stay in Kumasi.
