Graphic, AIESEC to strengthen partnership

A global youth-run organisation that focuses on leadership development, cross-cultural exchange and professional growth,  AIESEC Alumni Ghana, has pledged to deepen its relationship with the Graphic Communications Group Ltd.

It said its relationship with the company was quite significant and would, thus, strengthen it for their mutual benefit.

The President of the AIESEC  Alumni Ghana, Mary Nana Mensah, said this when she led a delegation to pay a courtesy call on the Editor, Graphic, Theophilus Yartey, in Accra last Friday.

Graphic, she said, had been a friend ever since the COVID time when it first sought to establish a collaboration.

“So we came to deepen our partnership with Graphic in ensuring that we look for something that benefits both organisations and helps us move forward and grow better,” she emphasised.

She said they would collaborate on initiatives that leveraged their respective strengths to empower the youth through practical experiences and cross-cultural exchanges.

Ms Mensah said AIESEC is a dedicated student body situated in various universitie or university campuses.

As a non-profit, non-governmental organisation, it has been around since 1948, focusing on leadership development and providing opportunities for young people to develop leadership skills, confidence and a sense of responsibility.

She said it aimed to ensure cross-cultural exchange by facilitating international internships, volunteer opportunities, and cultural exchanges to promote understanding and collaboration among people from diverse backgrounds.

Ms Mensah said AIESEC’s mission was to empower young people to become leaders and change-makers in their communities while fostering a culture of peace, understanding, and cooperation, and had a presence in over 110 countries, with local committees typically based in universities or colleges.

“Our broad theme is the development of humankind's potential and peace and humankind's potential.

“So these two things, even as alumni, are our focus. So we are looking at peace in Ghana,” she said.

“The purpose of AIESEC is to engage, help build understanding, cultural understanding between persons from all over the world, various countries all over the world; helping to integrate the world through young minds and young students,” she said.

Welcoming the delegation to his office, Mr Yartey said one of the critical success factors of Graphic was partnerships.

“We believe in partnerships. We believe in extending a hand of friendship to our stakeholders.

“AIESEC  is one of our key stakeholders; it's an umbrella body and its members include business people.

“So we value the relationship and we will do everything on our part to ensure that we keep it going, and more importantly, we want the members to know that our doors are open and they can do business with us,” he said.

Graphic, Mr Yartey said, was ready to amplify it on its various platforms.

“So for us, AIESEC is a worthy partner and we will continue to work with them,” the Editor, Graphic emphasised.
