Graphic, ECG deepen partnership on 75th anniversary
A delegation from the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has paid a courtesy call on the Editor, Graphic, Theophilus Yartey, and the Editorial Team to join in the celebration of the media house’s 75th anniversary.
The ECG delegation led by the General Manager in charge of External Relations, Dr Charles Nii Ayiku Ayiku, also had the Manager in charge of External Relations, Grace Garshong, and Communications Officers, Nana Kwesi Comsoon and Anita Atibila Ayambila.
The visit was not only to join in the company’s 75th anniversary celebration, but also to honour the long-standing relationship between the two institutions.
Continuous partnership
Dr Ayiku, on behalf of the ECG, congratulated the management and staff of the Graphic Communications Group Ltd. (GCGL) on its 75th anniversary, emphasising its role and impact not only in journalism but also in national discourses.
He commended the Daily Graphic for its high level of professionalism and dedication to promoting national development through responsible journalism over the years.
“As you celebrate your 75th anniversary, we are also here to celebrate with you and to enjoy the moment,” he said, adding that ECG valued its collaboration with Graphic in public education and information dissemination.
Conveying the well wishes of the Managing Director of ECG, Julius Kpekpena, Dr Ayiku further extended his best wishes to the company, praying for continued blessings, prosperity and growth.

The ECG General Manager in charge of External Relations also expressed profound appreciation to the GCGL for the continued partnership and support over the years.
“I am very sure that you’ve been seeing articles or advertisements about us in your papers, and this shows the strong bond we share. We are partners, we are friends, we are family,” he said.

Mr Yartey, who received the delegation, expressed appreciation to ECG for the thoughtful gesture, describing it as a pleasant surprise.
Mr Yartey said the relationship between ECG and the Graphic dates back several decades, rooted in mutual respect and cooperation.
“We are happy to have you here today.
This is a pleasant surprise. ECG and Graphic go way back. We work together because you give us the power to work.
Without you, there would be no Graphic,” he said.
The Editor, Graphic, added that both institutions had supported each other through periods of challenges and successes alike.
“When we need you, you come. When you need us, we make sure that we are there.
We are partners in nation-building,” he said.
Mr Yartey commended ECG for its essential role in national development and encouraged the company to continue improving its services despite existing challenges.
“We will continue to support you.
Our wish, desire, and prayer are that ECG will grow even bigger and overcome all challenges,” he stated.
