The Children’s Support Fund established by the government for the welfare of children of the August 6, 2025, Z-9 helicopter crash has received massive support, accruing GH¢2,315,000 in donations within days of its announcement.

The significant sum was revealed in a public notice issued last Monday by the Fund’s Coordinator, Dr Valerie Sawyerr, who is also the Senior Presidential Advisor on Governmental Affairs.

The fund, announced by the President on Friday, August 15, 2025, during the funeral service for the eight who died during the flight to a national assignment, is designed to offer long-term financial support for the education, health care, and general well-being of the children affected by the national tragedy.

The government has consequently extended an invitation to the public to contribute to the cause.

Cheques and bank drafts, according to the government’s statement, should be made payable to "CHILDREN SUPPORT FUND 6825".
