It has been exactly 400 years since the first black slaves landed in Jamestown Virginia in the US.
Ghana initiated the Year of Return to invite all diasporans back home to not only learn more but explore and even invest in the country.
Since this initiative began many African Americans have made their way into the country to learn more about their history.
The Essence Full Circle Festival, therefore, is to support cultural ownership and economic collaboration among Africans on the continent and people of African descent in the Diaspora.
And also connect Black communities globally for the exchange of ideas and shared objectives that lead to cultural monetisation and community reinvestment; and to facilitate the learning and discovery of the many facets of Africa’s beauty, excellence and opportunity globally.
