The book is a compilation of reflections and insights into his political journey, his adventures as the special aide to President John Evans Atta Mills, as well as his views on governance in Ghana and his commitment to Ghana’s development.

Chaired by the Chairman of GRIDCo,Kabral Blay-Amihere, the launch took place in Accra last Wednesday,  and it drew a distinguished gathering of scholars, accomplished authors and a section of the public.

Launch and review

A retired Supreme Court Judge, Jones Victor Mawulorm Dotse, who launched the book, commended the author for prioritising the country's progress over personal and political gains in his book. He also admonished the gathering to emulate that trait.

A former Director-General of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC), Dr Kwame Akuffo Anoff-Ntow, who reviewed the book, also advised the author to make audiobooks or online copies of the book available, and subsequently translate the book into local and other international languages.

How it came about

At the launch, Mr Anyidoho recounted how his writing skills had led to his position in the presidency as special aide to the former president. He shared how he and President Mills had discussed plans for life after the presidency, which led to the establishment of the Atta Mills Institute.

Mr Anyidoho also revealed that the 200-page book featured a foreword from President Mills and covered a wide range of topics and social issues in Ghana and Africa. In his remarks, Mr Anyidoho highlighted his dedication to Ghana over personal and political issues.

“You fly on the wings of a political party, but you perch on the ground of the nation,” he stated, emphasising his commitment to the country’s welfare over political matters. He also explained the symbolism of the book cover, where the clay pot represents him and the whirlwind symbolises his pure thoughts in writing the book.
