History

The Daily Graphic, which was founded in 1950 by the Daily Mirror Group of Britain as the West African Graphic Company Limited, rolled out its first edition with just 2,000 copies.

The brand has since become a household name in Ghana, representing resilience, professionalism and journalistic excellence.

It has grown from a single-newspaper outfit into the nation’s largest media house, with seven major publications, namely Daily Graphic, The Mirror, Graphic Sports, Graphic Showbiz, Junior Graphic, Graphic Business and Graphic Online.

Over the years, the parent company, Graphic Communications Group Ltd, has undergone several transformations from a private entity to state ownership in 1964, and later, in 1999, into its current form as a limited liability company.

Through these transitions, it has consistently retooled, diversified and embraced innovation, all the while shaping the media landscape in Ghana.
