Lakeside Marina Park wins 2 Tourism Awards

Lakeside Marina Park has been named the Eco Tourism Site and Attraction Development of the Year 2025, for the Greater Accra Region.

The award was presented at the 25th National Tourism Awards, recognising the park's deep focus on nature, community and responsible tourism.

The event, which was held at the Grand Arena in Accra, celebrated outstanding achievements across the hospitality, travel, culinary and creative sectors, highlighting tourism’s expanding influence on national development.

Awards

The event, under the auspices of the Ghana Tourism Authority, honoured excellence in various categories, including Hotel of the Year, Tour Guide of the Year, Tour Operator of the

Year, Chef of the Year, Creative Tourism Performance, Community-Based Tourism Initiative and Frontline Staff Excellence. Additional awards recognised top-performing hotels, innovative tour operators, culinary professionals elevating Ghanaian cuisine and creatives whose work strengthens local storytelling.

Therapeutic

The Managing Director (MD) of Lakeside Estate, Dr Prince Joseph Ayiku, who led his team to receive the award, said Marina Park had become one of Ghana's most exciting tourism destinations ever since it was launched.

He said families, tourists and business groups saw it as a peaceful place to relax. Dr Ayiku added that studies showed that when people took time to rest, played and connected with nature, their stress levels dropped.

“This park is not just about fun; it's a park for therapy for both the mind and the body," he stated.

Dr Ayiku said the award reflected years of efforts, adding that the Lakeside team had worked hard on service, safety and cleanliness.

“They continue to bring in new ideas that support eco-friendly tourism.

These efforts help people to relax, live healthier and discover the beauty of Ghana,” he said.

“The recognition also highlights how tourism and real estate can work together to help the country grow,” the MD of Lakeside Estate said.

Lakeside Marina Parks do not just attract visitors.

They create jobs, support local businesses and lift the economy. Lakeside is proud to be a leader in this space.

Appreciation

The MD, on behalf of the management team, expressed appreciation to the Ministry of Tourism, the Ghana Tourism Authority and every visitor who had supported the park.

“We are grateful for this recognition and we owe it to our patrons.

This award is more than just a trophy. It's a reminder to keep building places that bring peace, health and happiness to people.

Lakeside Marina Park is ready to keep leading that mission,” Dr Ayiku stressed.

The park

Lakeside Marina Park offers clean water slide activities, jet ski rides, open green spaces, horse rides and a calm setting for rest and many more activities.

Many visitors return because the park blends fun with nature.

Located by a quiet lake, the park's design protects the environment and promotes healthy living.
