Message from our MD - Graphic @75 Yesterday. Today. Tomorrow.

We bear the weight of history.

The responsibility of legacy.

Forever committed, honouring our past, present and future!

Graphic is even more important today with the endless onslaught of vested interests and unverified news on independent journalism, which is a cornerstone of any successful democracy.

"There is nothing like an informed people." - Helen Thomas

It has been poignantly observed that “The faintest pen is better than human memory.”

I am confident that Graphic has done that for Ghana, Africa and its diasporic communities, and we are privileged to be part of the present generation trying every day in the face of a rapid digital evolution and audience fragmentation.

As we mark seven decades and a half, I want to recognise;

•  The unyielding efforts of our regulator, the National Media Commission (NMC)
• Boards, past and current
• Executive Managing Directors over the years
• Editors of Daily Graphic, and of our various segment brands
• Managers,
• Our people, the staff,  who gather, curate and publish the news every day,
• Our readers, and stakeholders across the 16 regions of Ghana, and
• Our clients, advertising agencies, brands and individual advertisers.

What’s next?

What does the next era need to be about? Is it about growth, innovation, efficiency?

And what does that imply for the knowledge, skills, experience, and character traits the next leaders and staff of Graphic will need?

Being clear about our vision also helps to reimagine and establish our mandate.

The key, is how to blend the best of online, and bring that to the store and take the best of the store and bring that online.

It makes you think about media delivery very differently; digital and print.

We are passionate about driving connectivity, engagement and innovation to empower individuals and brand partnerships, and partner businesses across Ghana and Africa.

Together with the incredible teams at GCGL, we will work to build a more digitally inclusive future that uplifts communities and accelerates socio-economic development across the 16 regions of Ghana, and our Africa region.

Critical Success Factors:

1.  Clients: valuable collaboration and delivery.
2.  People: quality and depth, with a digital and multimedia worldview enabled by the right culture, curiosity and entrepreneurial attitude and technology
3.  Products and services: meeting the brands’ taste segments of our evolving audience member networks
4.  Profitability: revenue and growth

Here’s to the next 75 years.
