The furniture, worth GH¢520,000, includes 300 mono desks, 500 bunk beds, 15 dining hall benches and 10 dining hall tables. The gesture aims to improve the school’s educational facilities and foster a conducive learning environment for students and teachers.

At a ceremony last Friday to present the furniture to the school, the Managing Director (MD) of MPSG, Theophilus Ahwireng, expressed the company’s commitment to creating a positive learning environment to support students' success.

He said the goal of the donation was to assist in creating a positive learning environment for the students and to support their success. According to him, MODEC recognised the importance of well-equipped facilities in learning institutions to promote the well-being of students and staff, thereby supporting a comprehensive and conducive learning environment.

He cited the school's continuous improvement in WASSCE results as a motivating factor behind their support, adding: “We hope that our donation will enhance the living and learning experience of the students and teachers and staff.”

The Deputy Director, Human Resource Management Development for Asugyaman District Education Directorate, Ruby Ohene-Adutwum, expressed gratitude to MODEC for their generous donation and urged students to take good care of the furniture for their positive impact on the school’s performance.

“We are thrilled to see these items — 300 mono desks, 500 bunk beds, 15 dining hall benches, and 10 dining hall tables — donated to the school. “We know these items would improve the performance of the school. We appeal to students to take good care of them,” she said.

The Headmaster of the school, Rev. Richard Adjei, also expressed appreciation for the laudable donation, noting its potential to significantly enhance the educational experience at the school.

He acknowledged the challenges faced by the school, including water supply issues, dormitory renovations and staff housing concerns and appealed for support from the government and various stakeholders.

Impact

The Senior Prefect of the school, Shadrach Amoah, highlighted the impact of MODEC's donation, particularly on student accommodation and classroom seating.

He expressed gratitude for the bunk beds provided, which would alleviate previous challenges of students sleeping on the floor, a situation that had led to some students falling ill due to exposure to the cold floor.
