New Ho education office project progressing
Work is progressing steadily on the new Ho Municipal Education Office building in Ho.
The GH¢2.690 million project is being funded largely by the former Member of Parliament (MP) for Ho Central, Benjamin Komla Kpodo’s portion of the Common Fund, the GETFund and some donor agencies.
The Ho Municipal Director of Education, Esther Yeboah-Adzimah, disclosed this to the Daily Graphic in Ho last Saturday.
She said the project, which started in July last year, would be completed in December this year.
When completed, the one-storey building would have various departments, a 60-capacity conference hall, registry, stores and other units.
Crèche
Ms Yeboah-Adzimah said the current Municipal Education Office at the foot of the Galenkui Hill would later be converted into a modern crèche for children of the staff.
She explained that the new office building project was embarked upon because the current office was no longer spacious enough.
“The new Municipal Education Office building would definitely boost the morale of the staff,” the Municipal Director of Education maintained.
Ms Yeboah-Adzimah said the new office complex would also help the municipal education office to save money, as most of the units would be inside the edifice and not far apart any longer.
“Further, the new office site is very close to the Regional Education Office and that is a great advantage,” she told the Daily Graphic.
