Philanthropist gifts GH¢70,000 stationery to Street Academy

A philanthropist has donated stationery worth about GH¢70,000 to Street Academy, a non-governmental organisation that facilitates formal education for vulnerable children.

Nii Boye Abbey donated 8,000 exercise books, 1,200 pens, 1,200 pencils,1,200 rulers, 800 mathematical sets, 4,000 copies of Note Three notebooks and 4,000 pieces of erasers to support  the Street Academy’s Back To School project as a token of gratitude on his 61st birthday, which fell on Wednesday, August 27, 2025.

Rationale

The gesture, he said, was to make sure that the over 100 children under the care of Street Academy enjoyed better education in the classroom as the 2025-2026 academic year starts on Tuesday, September 2, 2025.

Nii Abbey, a Patron of Street Academy, expressed the hope that “the token presented with a joyous feeling” would be helpful in both Street Academy and the learners under its care.

He wished the children of Street Academy the best in their academic pursuits.

Appreciation

The Founder of Street Academy, Ataa Lartey, expressed gratitude to the academy’s benefactor and wished him better days.

He said the gesture was exemplary for the academy and its learners, emphasising that the Street Academy aimed to associate with noble characters who could serve as role models for the learners and society.
