Police interdicts 3 of its own over driver's death
The Ghana Police Service has interdicted three policemen for their role in the alleged butchering of a driver at Adomfe in the Ashanti region on Tuesday.
The three allegedly beat up and butchered the 33-year-old driver, Kofi Amponsah leading to his death.
The three policemen are General Sergeant Suleman Seidu, General Corporal Seth Agbango and General Lance Corporal Salifu Yakubu.

A press statement by the Ashanti Regional Police Command said it has commenced investigations into the alleged assault.
“The Command as part of investigation has recommended the interdiction of three (3) Officers, namely General Sergeant Suleman Seidu, General Corporal Seth Agbango and General Lance Corporal Salifu Yakubu.
“In all Nine (9) Officers embarked on the operation but Three (3) of the officers have been implicated having taken active part in the incident, hence their interdiction.
“The Command has also tasked the Regional Police Professional Standards Bureau (PPSB) to also institute internal administrative investigation into the conduct of the Officers and report,” a police statement said.
Ashanti regional police command assured the general public of an independent investigation, adding that further developments will be communicated in due cause.
