President Akufo-Addo congratulates President-elect Mahama
The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has called President-elect, John Dramani Mahama, to congratulate him on his decisive victory in Saturday’s presidential election.
The President has subsequently invited the President-elect for a meeting at the Jubilee House tomorrow to initiate the transition process.

This follows the declaration of the results of the 2024 Presidential Election by the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Jean Mensa, last night.
President Akufo-Addo expressed his commitment to ensuring a seamless transfer of power on January 7 next year, and “looks forward to working with the President-elect and his team to realise this goal”.
A statement signed by the Director of Communications at the Office of the President, Eugene Arhin, said the President also congratulated the EC and the Ghanaian people on a successful election that reflects the enduring strength of Ghana's democracy.
President Akufo-Addo called on all Ghanaians to unite and work together to consolidate democracy and the rule of law in the country.
He acknowledged the commitment and participation of all stakeholders which had ensured that the democratic process in the country remained credible and peaceful.
The President said he remained committed to the principles of good governance and a peaceful transition that would further strengthen Ghana's reputation as a beacon of democracy in Africa.

“May God continue to bless our homeland Ghana and make her great and strong,” President Akufo-Addo added.
