Scrutinise ingredients of products before use

Ghanaians have been urged to scrutinise the ingredients of skincare and household products before purchasing and using them.

They have also been advised to read product labels carefully while looking for certifications that ensure the products they use meet certain safety and environmental standards.

The Founder of EV Beauty Ghana Company Limited, Ama Vera, who gave the advice, emphasised the importance of choosing eco-friendly disinfectants that prioritise human safety and environmental protection.

She said this when the company donated boxes of environmentally friendly detergents to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

The gesture was part of the company’s effort to contribute to protecting the environment and ensuring that people use safe products.

The brief event was graced by the presidential aspirant of the Great Consolidated Popular Party (GCPP), Dr Daniel Augustus Lartey Junior; the Adantanhene of the Akuapem Traditional Area and the Benkumhene of Suhum, Nana Opeabere and Major Lawrence Appiah Kubi.

Healthier environment

Ms Vera encouraged the use of natural, chemical-free alternatives, warning against the dangers of strong chemical-based disinfectants.

She explained that the products donated were made from human cell-derived ingredients, which were gentle on humans and the environment while effectively killing viruses.

She emphasised her company's commitment to providing high-quality, eco-friendly products that support a healthier environment and better life.

“The products are made of human cells. So the product is soft, but it can kill viruses. We want to protect the environment and provide a healthier and better life with Chinese best products”.

“As a company, we want to do more and contribute to society. We want to give our best products to help EPA to continue to protect the environment,” she said.

Appreciation

The acting Chief Executive Officer of EPA, Professor Nana Ama Browne Klutse, who received the items, expressed gratitude for the donation and said it would be utilised for its intended purpose.

She reaffirmed the EPA’s dedication to regulating the activities of companies that pose a risk to human health and the environment.

To achieve this, she said the EPA would, among others, issue environmental permits to deserving companies, ensuring that only safe and harmless products were used in the environment.

Inclusive country

Dr Lartey Jr, in a brief remark, thanked the company for their donation and called for an inclusive country, irrespective of one’s affiliation to a political party.

He stressed the party’s domestication policies, which he said when adopted would create an enabling atmosphere for businesses to produce locally.
