Ghana Old Students Festival set for December in Accra

Accra will this year host the maiden edition of the Ghana Old Students Festival, an event organisers say will be the biggest alumni gathering of 2025.

Scheduled for December 20 at Ghud Park, near the Accra Mall, the festival is expected to attract thousands of former students from senior high schools, colleges, polytechnics, universities and halls of residence across the country.

Dubbed “Reconnecting the Old School Days,” the festival is designed to unite generations of alumni, rekindle old friendships and foster new connections through a blend of entertainment, culture and shared experiences.

The event will feature exhibitions, art displays, traditional Ghanaian dishes and interactive games, including eating competitions, snooker, scrabble, ludo and oware. Music, dancing and a live performance from a surprise artist will add to the day’s excitement.

Organisers said the festival aims not only to revive fond school memories but also to celebrate the vibrancy of Ghana’s alumni culture. “It’s more than just a reunion—it’s about reconnecting, celebrating and creating fresh memories,” a spokesperson explained.

Participation is open to schools, alumni groups and year groups nationwide. Interested parties are encouraged to secure registration early by contacting organisers via phone, WhatsApp or email.

The event will start at 9 a.m. and is expected to draw a large turnout of former students eager to celebrate their shared heritage and network in a festive atmosphere.
