Ghana records 21,968 COVID-19 cases, deaths now 129

Ghana has recorded 891 new infections of the Coronavirus disease.
This brings the total number of infections to 21,968.
The Director-General of the Ghana Health Service, Dr Patrick Kuma-Aboagye, said at a press briefing in Accra on Tuesday that the new cases are from samples dating back “mainly from June 26 to July 3.”

According to him, Ghana was recording “about 400” new cases a day.

He said clinical recoveries were up to 17,156 with the death count standing at 129.
The active cases in the country now stands at 4,683 with 22 being severe cases.
Six of the severe cases are in a critical condition and five are on ventilators.
