Ghana Red Cross, Iran Clinic collaborate on outreach for June 3 flood victims
The Ghana Red Cross Society has presented medical supplies valued at $20,000 to the Iran Clinic for a collaboration in an outreach programme to provide quality healthcare delivery for victims of the June 3 disaster.
The consignment included antibiotics, analgesics, anti-malaria, anti-inflammatories, anti-pyretic and multivitamins.
Presenting the items, the President of the society, Mr Michael Agyekum Addo, said the society decided to partner the Iran Clinic after the flood and fire disaster.
He explained that the clinic had agreed to use the medical supplies for an outreach programme to support communities such as Adabraka, Avenor, Nima and Agbogbloshie.
Quality healthcare
The Medical Director of Iran Clinic, Dr Masoud Maleki Birjandi, commended the gesture of the GRCS.
He pointed out that the Iranian Red Crescent had a mission to provide quality health care at all times.
Dr Birjandi said although the flood affected the clinic due to its geographical location, the clinic did not allow the incident to affect its services.
Iran clinic
Established by the Islamic Republic of Iran 25 years ago, the Iran Clinic had provided quality health care at subsidised rates to many Ghanaians.
The clinic was upgraded into a hospital this year to scale up its services and to empower the staff to produce quality services to Ghanaians.
