Even before it reaches its full potential at 27 floors, the Alto, which forms part of the Villagio Vista group of residential and office accommodation at the Tetteh Quarshie Interchange in Accra, has made Accra’s skyline more beautiful.
It belongs to the Trasaaco Group and is under its Accra real estate development programme.
The building has already overtaken another vista building, the villagio 11 or the Azure Villaggio Vista, which, at 22 floors, held the tallest building title in Ghana.
Before then, the Kwame Nkrumah Conference Centre completed in 1965 held sway with 13 floors.
Other tall buildings in Accra include the SSNIT Tower Block, 17 floors, CEDI House, 14 floors, Premier Towers 13 floors and the VRA House, 12 floors.
Ponte City Apartment, 54 floors, in Johannesburg, is the tallest residential building in Africa.
