Citation

The acting President of GNAT, Mr Alexander Mawusi Buadi, read the citation in honour of Mrs Duncan-Adanusa and stated that during her tenure of office, she worked hard to raise the image of GNAT in International trade union circles through her excellent communication and international relation skills.

"Some of the legacies for which you would forever be remembered in GNAT include the Abankro Teachers Village Project, construction of the fourth floor of the GNAT headquarters block, free cancer treatment for teachers, establishment of GNAT youth programme, the Dream Oval-GNAT ICT programme for young teachers and souvenirs for GNAT members," he said.

Administrative skills

Mr Buadi further stated that for 12 years,  Mrs Duncan-Adanusa led GNAT to greater heights through creative administrative skills and managed the affairs of the union with such dexterity and astuteness that she became a shining example for other trade unions in Ghana and Africa as a whole.

Mrs Duncan-Adanusa thanked all those who supported her during her 21 years with GNAT as Deputy General Secretary and General Secretary.

"I fought so many battles, and the greatest lesson was studying human behaviour," she said.

She said she always found alternative solutions to certain problems to achieve results.

Mr Kofi Asamoah lauded Mrs Duncan-Adanusa for her contribution to the labour movement in the country and said her role in the leadership struggle of the country would be remembered.
