GOIL provides boreholes for two communities in E/Region
The Ghana Oil Company Limited (GOIL) has inaugurated two separate water projects for the Wirenkyiren Amanfrom and Pano communities, both in the East Akyem municipality in the Eastern Region.

The mechanised boreholes with stagnant pipes will serve not less than 5,000 inhabitants in the beneficiary communities.
The Corporate Affairs Manager of the company, Mrs Rosemond Awotwe Frimpong speaking at the ceremony, said the provision of the facilities formed part of the organisation’s corporate social responsibility.
She said under the programme, the company was providing potable water for under-served communities annually to eventually reach out to 500,000 people in the country.
Mrs Frimpong was hopeful that the project would go a long way to improve upon the quality of life of the people in the two communities.
Appeal
She appealed to Ghanaians to patronise GOIL products to enhance the company’s sustainability to ensure the continued support of communities in dire need of such basic social amenities.
The Co-ordinating Director of the East Akyem Municipal Assembly Mr, Francis Kweku Asiedu, said the assembly alone could not meet the increasing demands of the people and, therefore, called for support from benevolent organisations.
Appreciation
He thanked the management of GOIL for its initiative and added, "This water project will go a long way to improve on the health of the people, as it will help eradicate any likely water-related diseases from the community."

The Chief of Wirenkyiren Amanfrom, Barimah Ofosuhene Peprah IV, said the facility would also ease the stress of trekking long distances in search of water.
He urged the people to adopt a good maintenance culture to ensure the sustainability of the project.
The Krontihene of Pano, Barfour Agyei Amoako Gyampa III, also expressed gratitude to GOIL and called for further support to accelerate development in the area.
