Graphic wins big at Supply Management Africa Awards in South Africa
Graphic Communications Group Limited (GCGL) has won an award for ‘Best Contribution to the Reputation of the Procurement & Supply Profession’ at the CIPS Supply Management Africa Awards held in South Africa.
The award is the company's first procurement-related award.
Graphic’s Procurement Manager, Mr Enoch Dugbatey Dugbartey, expressed delight at winning the award, saying, “The exposure and mileage for the company internationally is enormous.”
Mr Dugbartey said Graphic would continue to cut down on wastage in procurement and use funds gained to support Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects, such as the production of the not-for-profit Junior Graphic newspaper.
“We are not going to sleep. There is more we can do. We can work hard to achieve more competitive prices and less waste in the chain. We can do more and we have started again,” he added.
At the awards event held at the Emperors Palace Hotel in Johannesburg, the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority also won the award for ‘Best Public Sector Procurement & Supply Project’, while MTN Ghana picked up an award for “Most Innovative Use of Technology”.
