Dr Blazquez, the President of Diageo Africa, Turkey, Russia and Central Eastern Europe, expressed gratitude to Otumfuo for his support to GGBL throughout the years.

“As the home to our headquarters in Ghana, the business is committed to investing in our operations in Kumasi. Last year, we invested GH¢90 million in an ultramodern equipment to increase production.

We will continue to impact the communities in which we operate through the employment opportunities we provide directly and indirectly, our innovative use of local raw materials which creates value and improves livelihoods for farmers and our Water of Life projects across the country.”

For his part, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II commended GGBL for the investments and impact they were making in the Ashanti Region and Ghana as a whole and gave an assurance of his continued support to the business.

The Asantehene said he was particularly pleased to receive the new labelled Star Lager beer which gave credence to the continued brewing and packaging of Star beer in Kumasi, and welcomed the addition of Gilbey’s Gin to GGBL’s portfolio of products.

He concluded by encouraging the business to continue to expand its use of locally sourced raw materials to promote development for farmers and Ghana as a whole.
