ICT teachers in Awutu-Senya District receive Laptops
The Awutu-Senya District Chief Executive (DCE), Mr. Sampson Abbey Armah, has presented 23 laptops computers to Information Communication Technology(ICT) teachers in the District to enhance their knowledge and improve teaching capability.

The DCE stated that it is an opportunity will help the ICT teachers in the District to build a dynamic and knowledge–based society, and stimulate a progressive economic emancipation.
Mr. Aramah disclosed that the District Assembly will from next term, facilitate workshops and training programmes to equip school management committees (SMC), head teachers and circuit supervisors in order to improve performance at basic schools.
According to the DCE, the purpose of the workshops will be to check teacher-absenteeism, and deal with recalcitrant ones who are thwarting efforts at achieving quality education.
Mr. Armah charged the ICT teachers to use their subject as a means of wining the interest of students, and adopting strategies to reduce high rate of school dropouts in the district.
The DCE cautioned teachers to be mindful of the negativity of the use of computers in these modern times.
Mr. Abaidoo Adentwi Edzii, Awutu Senya District Director of Education, said a total of 729 laptops computers and 30 trolleys have been distributed to 31 Basic Schools in the District under the government ICT project.
He said a total of 105 teachers have benefited from a five-day ICT training programme in Winneba, to sharpen their skills in order to enhance effective teaching and learning .

Mr. Edzil hinted that the computers would encourage the teachers to improve on their performances.
He said the presentation proves that government is aware of the challenges facing teachers in the performance of their duties.
Mr. Edzii said the Assembly had assured the educational directorate of supporting the organisation of this year’s Best Teacher Award.
