Kiki Gyan travelled the world with the band and performed at many top-class shows died eleven years ago.

Scheduled to start at 7pm, the show will see performances from musical heavyweights, legends and young artistes who will grace the stage to pay homage to Kiki Gyan and to celebrate Ghanaian music by showcasing and merging music from the old school with that of the present.

The line-up of artistes includes Gyedu Blay Ambolley, VVIP, Manifest, Adomaa, Ewudzi, Ko-Jo Cue and other surprise acts.

In an interview with Showbiz, Kwame Acquah, Marketing officer of HPR Media, organisers of the concert, said they thought it wise to put something together for Kiki Gyan because he did so well for Ghana as a musician.

“It is a tribute show and we will also use the opportunity to launch the Kiki Gyan Foundation. We will also celebrate his life and musical achievement,” he added.

According to Kwame Acquah, Kiki Gyan did well to put Ghana on the international map yet nothing is said about him after his demise eleven years ago.

He ought to be celebrated, nothing is said about him and even the younger generations don’t know him, we are doing this in collaboration with his family.

‘’We need to remember him more, we need to raise awareness, it is the maiden show for HPR Media and we thought it will be nice to start with Kiki because he did so much for Ghana,’’ he said.

In Kiki Gyan’s last interview, he stated his desire to start a foundation; his family is making that desire a reality by partnering with HPR Media on this event.

The event is sponsored by the Multi Media Group, Daily Guide, GH One and etv Ghana. Proceeds from the show will go to the running of the Kiki Gyan Foundation.
