‘Invest in youth development’
The General Overseer and Founder of Miracle Life Gospel Church, Rev. Gordon Kisseih, has asked the government to invest in the youth in the areas of employment creation and vocational education.

He said Ghana might raise a generation of angry youth who would not hesitate to use any means to make a living, should they be neglected and offered no opportunity to improve their wellbeing.
Rev. Kisseih said this after the church had presented items worth GH¢5,000 to the Akropong School for the Blind in the Eastern Region.
The items, which included rice, maize and sugar, were donated in response to an appeal by the management of the school to the church for support for its operations.
Rev. Kisseih also made a promise to sponsor some of the students of the school to further their education.
Role of the church
Rev. Kisseih said it was the duty of the church not only to preach the gospel but also to tackle issues that confronted the development of the country’s economic growth.
“The church must address societal issues such as unemployment and how to empower the youth to become responsible leaders. This means the church must continue to stress the challenges hindering the country’s growth,” he said.
Rev. Kisseih, however, advised the youth to desist from negative practices that could endanger their future.
Akropong School for the Blind
The Assistant Headmaster of the school, Mr James Arthur, thanked the management of the church for the gift and called on other organisations to come to their aid.
He mentioned financial problems and inadequate infrastructure as major issues that affected the administration of the school.
Mr Arthur stated that the school’s management continued to depend on the benevolence of Ghanaians, since the government’s subsidy was inadequate.
