IT firm exhibits at Temenos Forum
Global Solutions Limited (GSL), the services partner and sole distributors of Temenos Banking Software in West Africa, has participated in the annual Temenos Community Forum (TCF) held in Rome, Italy, as a Gold sponsor.

Temenos was founded in 1993 in Geneva, Switzerland, with a mission to rid the banking industry of its legacy software. It has more than 1,600 installations in over 150 countries, including Ghana, through its sole partner, Global Solutions.
The four-day event, held on the theme, “Succeeding through the Digital Revolution”, gave clients of Global Solutions, which also trades as Inlaks Computers, the opportunity to be abreast of the digital trends in the dynamic banking industry.
The event discussed how digitisation is fostering change- with cloud computing lowering the cost of doing business- improvements in mobile technologies rendering banking far more accessible; how to make it possible for firms to draw major insights into customers’ lives and how social media is providing the opportunity to inject a social context into banking services.
The director, Strategic Sales and Marketing, Global Solutions, told a section of the media after participating in the event that “digitisation is fundamentally changing the dynamics of the banking industry. It is simultaneously giving more power to customers, while opening up the industry to new non-traditional competitors”.
Mr Olufemi believes banks had the potential to succeed in the digital age, thanks to their existing assets such as large customer base, access to rich transactional data and the ability to offer integrated financial services.
The banking industry is undergoing a massive transformation, with the Internet alone changing how banks operate, which in the past was dominated by branch banking performed within a bank’s opening hours. Now banking is ubiquitous.
The Chief Marketing/ Strategy of Temenos, Mr Ben Robinson, said “banks must find a way to increase the benefits from the copious assets if they are to remain competitive.”
