The victim and the accused attend schools in the same community.

Police Prosecutor Sergeant Samuel Awedaga of the Bawku Police Command told the Bawku Circuit Court that the complainant is the father of the victim and that on December 9 at about 1400 hours, both the victim and the accused had closed from school and on the way home, the accused lured the victim into a nearby bush and defiled her.

Prosecutor Awedaga said during the act, a passerby saw them and called the father of the victim on telephone and informed him and he later reported the matter to the police.

He said the police medical form issued to the victim to go to hospital indicated that she had been defiled and so the accused was arrested and put before court.

The Presiding Judge, Emmanuel Kofi Sunu remanded the accused into prison custody to reappear in court on January 5, 2015.
