John Boadu reaches out to needy in Greater Accra
The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr John Boadu, last Sunday donated some relief items and an undisclosed amount of money to the metropolitan, municipal and district assemblies (MMDAs) in the Greater Accra Region.
The items, which included bags of rice, according to him, were meant for distribution to the underprivileged in the region regardless of their political affiliation to support them cope with the difficulties and hardships occasioned by the restriction of movement.
The items were received on behalf of each MMDA by the respective Chief Executives of the and in some cases, by Members of Parliament and some constituency executive of the party.
Interactions
In his interaction with the people, Mr Boadu reiterated the commitment of the NPP and the government to providing the needed relief to Ghanaians, particularly the underprivileged at all times.
To this end, he said, the party would continue to distribute various relief items to ameliorate the people’s suffering.
Mr Boadu indicated that the party would replicate the gesture in the Greater Kumasi Metropolitan Area and its contiguous districts during the week.
He used the occasion to educate the people on some safety tips in order to avoid contracting the deadly COVID-19.
Hand washing
Consistent with the campaign against the disease, Mr Boadu admonished the people to regularly wash their hands with soap under running water; use alcohol-based sanitisers to rub their hands; live a healthy lifestyle and also observe the social distancing protocols announced by the health experts.
Mr Boadu was accompanied by some regional executives of the NPP in the Greater Accra Region, led by the Regional Chairman, Mr Divine Otoo Agorhom.
Appreciation
Speaking on behalf of the recipients, the Member of Parliament for Ledzokuku, Dr Benard Okoe Boye, expressed appreciation to Mr Boadu for his generosity and promised to use the items for the intended purpose.
