Kasoa police arrest two men for the murder of a cobbler
“Initially when we heard the report of a dead body lying around the market area we thought it was a thief that had been killed, but later Appiah’s family reported that he was their relative,” he said.
He said it was after the police had gone to pick the body that an informant came to tell them that he saw the suspects attacking Appiah when he (informant) had gone to Adjei’s bar to buy cigarette.
Adjei, according to the police normally operated his bar deep in the night, and it was around that time that Appiah was attacked.
ASP Agbegne said the informant claimed he saw one of the suspects holding a machete with the other carrying a bench, with which they attacked Appiah.
According to the police, the informer said he asked the suspects to stop attacking the Appiah but they ignored him, and so he left the scene only to hear of the death of Appiah later.
Upon examination, ASP Agbegne said, the body of the deceased was found to have bruises and some cuts.
The suspects are currently in police custody pending investigations.
