In an address at the inauguration of a new police station at Asawasi in Kumasi, DCOP Boakye questioned why some politicians take delight in intimidating police officers.

“Democracy is the rule of law; it is the maintenance of law and order. The same person when he is at the other side will say democracy is the upbringing of freedom and sometimes irresponsible freedom,” he said.

DCOP Boakye stressed that the police was a constitutional organization, adding, “Parties will come, parties will go, the police will remain. Therefore one police man will go another will come but it’s the same police.”

He, therefore, advised the police not to be intimidated by any civilian or person.

“No policeman should be intimidated by any civilian or any person in the society for doing his or her work and I employ my policemen to work hard without fear or favour. Anybody and anybody who will fall foul of the law, we shall arrest him,” he said.
