On Thursday evening Kwaw Kese was taken ill while in police custody, but he has since been discharged from hospital.

Lawyers for the musician argued that since the substance was yet to be proven to be marijuana; it was unlawful to still keep Kwaw Kese in prison custody.

But this was sharply rebutted by the prosecution who told the court the results of the substance were ready to be exhibited in court on December 22, 2014.

The court presided over by Justice P.K.B. Apenkwa also insisted drug offences were non-bailable. It is the third time since his arrest last month that he has been denied bail.

Kwaw Kese, aka Abodam, (born Emmanuel Botchway) ,who is in police custody for allegedly smoking marijuana in public was Thursday rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital after complaining of a stomach upset. He was however discharged after less than four hours, hospital sources told the Daily Graphic.
