‘Learn to be innovative’

The Chief Executive Officer of Regal JNELP Innovations and Unearth Potentials, Miss Portia Sackey, has urged children to participate in entrepreneurial training  so they can acquire skills to help them solve societal problems.

She explained that the western countries kept improving economically because children were trained to discover their skills at a young age and apply them in future.

Miss Sackey was speaking at a Free Kids Craft and Funfair organised by the company which provides entrepreneurial training for adults and children.

The funfair, dubbed: “Shaping the next generation of creative Innovators Today!”, was organised for children between the ages of six and 17 to help them discover their talents and skills.

She advised children to learn how to be creative by doing new things with their hands such as sewing, crocheting, robotics, card making and printing.

“It is said that creative experiences foster mental growth in children by providing opportunities for trying out new ideas and new ways of thinking, as well as solving societal problems,” she said.

Miss Sackey said cutting threads, drawing out shapes, choosing and mixing colours among others helped children to be very innovative in the fields they found themselves.
