‘Let Holy Spirit guide you in 2021’

We are grateful to God for taking us through all the challenges in 2020 as we begin another year.

It has become a common phenomenon where some ministers of the gospel prophesy doom at the beginning of every year.

I do not think that is necessary for us as a country. What is important is for us to walk with Jesus daily in all our dealings to be where He has purposed for us.

Philippians 3:14 states that, “I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”

It is important that we press on in life to be able to achieve our goals.

Luke 2:52: “And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.”

Jesus grew in these areas — wisdom, stature and favour with God and man. And these are the four key things we need to pursue in 2021.

Wisdom includes knowledge.

We must live for God and we will be imbibed with wisdom, The Right Reverend Professor Joseph Obiri Yeboah (JOY) Mante, Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana said.

One of your goals in 2021 must be to live a healthy lifestyle to be able to grow in stature.

We must exercise more by checking what we eat. Jesus also grew in favour of men, and that is what we must strive for this year.

There are those who are intelligent in many aspects but lack good human relations.

This year, we must press on in our social relations, eschew pride and arrogance, and relate well with people.

In 2021, we must have a serious walk with God through daily repentance from sin by asking Him to help us in all our endeavours.

Hebrews 12:1 says, “Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us…”

You must go on your knees and commit certain things you do not like to God, and He will help you.

This year, you must always acknowledge the supremacy of God in your life and stop complaining about everything.

As you do this, you will grow more in Christ.

We must also offer a helping hand to the underprivileged in society.

Before you step out every day, you must pray and ask for God’s strength and read your scriptures.

Finally, pressing on this year means you must prepare feverishly for the coming of Christ, and ensure that you make it to heaven — for it is real.

May we all draw strength daily from the Lord so that all the saints of God will be equipped for ministry work in 2021.

May we enjoy peace, love, holiness, good health and divine glory in 2021.

May 2021 help us grow and go higher on the spiritual ladder such that our souls will move higher towards God.

I wish all Presbyterians and Ghanaians a blessed 2021.

Afehyiapa to everyone.

This year, we must lean on the Lord who is our guide, guard and shepherd.

As a people, we must look up to Him and follow in His footsteps.

In 2021, we must be disciples of God, with the aim of living like Jesus Christ.

In doing so, you must not forget that it is only the Holy Spirit who can help you live this way.

Allow the Holy Ghost to dwell in you mightily in all that you do, as the Bible admonishes.

May 2021 continue to be a prosperous year for everyone in spite of the challenges that may come our way.

Be blessed in all that you throughout this year and the years ahead.

On behalf of the Methodist Church of Ghana, I wish everyone Afehyiapa.

Bishop Emmanuel Louis Nterful, Convener of the United Denominations Originating from the Lighthouse Group of Churches (UD-OLGC)
New Year always brings the hope, ambitions and aspirations of new beginnings.

After 2020 and the unprecedented moments we have all had to go through with the pandemic, it makes the longing for the newness of a fresh start even more critical.

2021 is a new beginning coming with fresh hopes of better days.

We seek to overcome the memories that scarred and scared us in 2020.

Our wishes of a Happy New Year, the desires of prosperity, health and long life to family and loved ones show our hopes for the coming days in this new year, 2021.

Our faith is that we will go ahead to attain these things.

In Bishop Dag Heward-Mills’ book, “He That Hath To Him Shall Be Given: And He That Hath Not, From Him Shall Be Taken Even That Which He Hath”, he shows us what your 2021 will be if you follow Apostle Peter’s admonition in 2 Peter 1:5-8: “But also, for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

We need to add virtues of integrity, purity, truthfulness and honesty to our hard work, with knowledge, perseverance, discipline and love, in addition to godliness.

Keep believing and add to your faith all that Peter asks, and this new year will bring to your life fulfilment of all your dreams and hopes.

On behalf of the Founder, Bishop Dag Heward-Mills, the Executive Council, the Bishops Conference, the pastors and the entire membership of the United Denominations Originating from the Lighthouse Group of Churches, I wish you a happy, blessed and peaceful new year!

As we begin another year, I urge you not to look at the challenges that the year will bring.

Most especially, you must let the Holy Ghost empower you in all that you do.

The Holy Ghost empowerment is when you’re led by the spirit to do what is right at all times.

Without the Holy Spirit, you cannot go far.

If you have Him, you will succeed and smile in all things, and the challenges of the year will not matter to you.

The Bible says, “When men are cast down, then you shall say, there is a lifting up…” meaning when people are complaining, you will be on top because you have the Holy Ghost.

When you submit to the spirit, He will prompt you in all your dealings.

Before you step out each day of the year, ask the Holy Spirit to guide and counsel you.

Every challenge in your life can only be overcome with the help of the Holy Ghost.

The same things you’ve been trying to overcome over the years you’ll be able to achieve them this year.

Do not fret. Don’t run away, do not cry and throw your hands in despair.

You should adopt better strategies, plan well and stand tall in 2021.

I pray for long life, wisdom, prosperity, strength and grace upon all Ghanaians.
