Maulvi Mohammed Bin Salih now Head of Ahmadiyya Community in Ghana

The Supreme Head of the worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, Khalifatul Masih V, has confirmed the appointment of Maulvi Mohammed Bin Salih as the new Ameer and Missionary in charge of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Ghana.

Maulvi Salih had earlier been appointed by the Supreme Head as the acting Ameer after the demise of the Maulana Dr A. Wahab Adam in June this year.

A statement signed by the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Ahmadiyya Mission in Ghana, Ahmad N. Twumasi, said before his appointment as acting Ameer, Maulvi Salih was the Second Deputy Ameer of the mission.

It added that Maulvi Salih just returned home from the United Kingdom after leading a high-powered Ahmadi Muslim delegation to the 48th International Annual Conference of the worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community held in London from August 29 to 30, 2014.

“The conference, which was officially opened by Hadhrat Mirza, was attended by thousands of Ahmadi Muslims from more than 200 countries,” the statement said.

It was also attended by some ministers of state, diplomats and religious leaders from Africa and Europe.

Maulvi Salih’s appointment to the Ameership was officially announced by Hadhrat Mirza after the conference.
