The four - Tsatsu Tsikata, Philip Addison, Frank Davies and Alex Quaynor — all old boys of the school, will be honoured as Mfantsipim Brand Icons for their roles in the presidential election petition at the Supreme Court.

Mr Tsikata represented the National Democratic Congress (NDC), while Messrs Addison, Davies and Quaynor represented the petitioners, namely, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the 2012 presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP); his running mate, Dr Mahamadu Bawumiah, and Mr Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey, the former National Chairman of the NPP.

Their professional role also showcased the Mfantsipim heritage of producing individuals who rise above partisanship by exuding selfless leadership to render service to the community, the nation and the continent.

The Headmaster of Mfantsipim School, Mr J. K. A. Simpson, speaking on the awards, said, “As far as we were concerned, it was Mfantsipim on show throughout the period of the case and it was the Mfantsipim Brand which was the ultimate winner, especially as they added value to the school’s global image and accomplishments.”

Next month’s national event being hosted by the 1984 Sponsoring Year Group of Mfantsipim Old Boys Association (MOBA) on the theme: ‘Let’s Begin to Dream Again for Mfantsipim’, will be held at the main foyer of the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC), with A. B. Crentsil and Paapa Yankson, two famous artistes, performing.
