Dr Charles Dwamena's (seated) name was not found in the voter's register

VIDEO: Misunderstanding at NPP Headquarters

A misunderstanding arose at the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Headquarters Saturday morning over proxy voting during the party’s delegates’ congress to elect a leader for the party ahead of the 2016 General Elections.

An executive of the China branch of the NPP, Dr Charles Dwamena had difficulty going through the election process when it was found out that his name was not in the register as a delegate but as a proxy voter.

Dr Dwamena had been nominated by another member of the China branch, Dr Alex Amponsah to be his proxy but it happened that Dr Dwamena’s name was not in the register.

By principle, Dr Dwamena’s name must be in the register in order for him to cast his ballot first and then vote for Dr Alex Amponsah.
