NADMO assists rainstorm victims at Ahamansu
The National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) has presented assorted relief items to victims whose dwellings were ravaged by a rainstorm recently.

About 1,000 people were displaced and close to a 100 houses had their roofs ripped off.
The items include 30 bundles of roofing sheets, 30 bags of rice, cartons of soap, mosquito nets and coil, bales of blanket, oil and plastic buckets.
Mr Gavivina Tamakloe, NADMO Director, in charge of Relief and Reconstruction, who presented the items, urged the people of Ahamansu and its environs to plant trees to serve as windbreaks and to protect the environment.
He entreated them to develop the culture of maintenance, urging landlords to occasionally reinforce the roofs of their buildings to avert such disasters in the future.
Mr Tamakloe called on artisans to give expert advice during constructions and refrain from "cutting corners."
Receiving the items on behalf of the people, Mr Jacob Asokonde, Kadjebi District Chief Executive thanked NADMO for the swift response, adding that, the district has experienced three rainstorm related disasters, which he attributed to the activities of plywood manufacturing factories and illegal chain-saw operators in the district.
He pledged his administration's resolve to ensure a policy of tree planting as a way of social responsibility from the plywood manufacturers to protect the environment.
