New entrant retires Hajia Alima Mahama from Parliament

The Member of Parliament for Nalerigu/Gambaga Constituency, Hajia Alima Mahama could not secure her bid for a third term in Parliament.
Hajia Mahama, who is also the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, lost the seat by a landslide margin to a new entrant Alhaji Issifu Baba who stood on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
She polled 28,638 votes against 34,045 votes garnered by the NDC candidate.
