Food for All Ghana, a non-governmental organisation (NGO) which feeds the vulnerable in the society, has fed over 1000 vulnerable children, mentally challenged, the aged and female potters in Accra.
The feeding programme was done in collaboration with the participants in the 2016 Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) meeting held in Accra.

Deliberations
The meeting drew 45 participants from eight West African countries to deliberate on issues concerning the youth.
The programme, dubbed “Share your Breakfast,” was held at the Accra Psychiatric Hospital, where the 45 YALI participants volunteered to cook breakfast for the inmates of the hospital and the vulnerable in society.
A statement issued to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) said the participants also used the occasion to plant crops on a 1.5 hectare garden for the Accra Psychiatric Hospital.
The Executive Director of the Food for All Ghana programme, Mr Elijah Amoo Addo, reiterated their vision to create sustainable means of nutrition for the vulnerable in Africa through food recovery and farming.
Right to food
“All humans, irrespective of their race or financial background, have the right to food and it is only through shared collaboration that the vulnerable in Ghana can be fed.”
“Food security in Africa could be attained if we look at the food wastage occurring across our food supply chain on the continent,” the statement quoted Mr Addo as saying.

It said attaining the UN Sustainable Development Goal Two (SDG 2) in Africa, which relates to ending hunger, achieving food security and improving nutrition, and promoting sustainable agriculture, required collective efforts from stakeholders within the food supply chain and “Food for All Ghana is a platform that stakeholders must take advantage of to create sustainable means of nutrition for the vulnerable.”
The statement announced that there would be the first Food for All Ghana conference in May 2016 and urged stakeholders in the food supply chain to support it.
YALI was launched by the President of the United States of America, Barrack Obama, as an initiative to invest in the next generation of African leaders. GNA
