NIB adopts Children’s Ward of UWR Referral Hospital

As a first step, the staff undertook an estimate for the refurbishment of the ward and followed that with a two-hour clean-up exercise after which they presented assorted food items, including fruits such as pineapples, watermelons, oranges, bananas and apples worth about GH¢500 to the authorities of the hospital.

Presenting the items, Mr William Ohene Adu, the UWR Manager of the Bank, said the gesture was their widow’s mite to complement government’s efforts in reducing child deaths rate.

He reiterated the promise that the bank would refurbish the ward with the urgency it deserved to enhance services there.

He said the bank hoped to extend their gesture to other parts of the region.

Ms Mariam Yahaya,a nurse, received the items on behalf of the hospital matron, commended the institution for their gifts and appealed to other benevolent organisations and individuals to emulate the gesture.
