Nsawam Hospital receives biofil place of convenience
The Christian Community Microfinance Limited (CCML) has donated a five-seater biofil place of convenience, estimated at GH¢20,500, to the old Nsawam Hospital for use by patients and staff.
The toilet operates on the principle of aerobic decomposition, and employs a process termed living filter, in which natural organisms such as snails and beetles break down solid waste into useful products good for agricultural purposes.
The construction of the facility was solely funded by CCML as part of its corporate social responsibility towards the development of the Nsawam community.
Present at the inaugural ceremony were the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Nsawam Adoagyiri, Mr Mark Dompreh, the Municipal Director of Health Services for Nsawam-Adoagyiri, Mrs Esther Oyinka, management and staff of CCML, staff of the hospital and citizens of the town, among others.

The General Manager of Corporate Affairs for CCML, Mrs Mary Mariamah Armah, said besides providing financial solutions for the company’s clients, it was also committed to affecting the lives of people positively.
In a speech, the MCE commended the company for the gesture. He urged the hospital staff to endeavour to ensure that the facility was well maintained.
In a speech read on his behalf the Member of Parliament (MP) for Nsawam Adoagyiri, Mr Frank Annor Dompreh, urged other corporate institutions and public-spirited individuals to also contribute to the growth of the hospital.
He said Ghanaians must not rely on the government or politicians alone for development projects but they must, through self-help and collaborations, endeavour to change the face of their communities.
