He said although he was determined to transform the lives of the people, negative tendencies, including robbery and indiscipline could hinder progress in the town.

Speaking in an interview with the Daily Graphic, Nana Bekoe, who was installed in December last year, called on residents of Obosomase to contribute towards the needed change of the town.

He took the oath before the acting President of the Akuapem Traditional Council, Osahene Offei Kwesi Agyemang.

Development projects

Nana Bekoe said unemployment among the youth was one of the problems hampering the development of the town.

Outlining some of the developmental projects he intended to undertake, he said the poor state of the drainage system in the town was a major focus.

“We need a well-established drainage system that will address the poor sanitation in the town,” he said.

Nana Bekoe also mentioned the construction of a police station to guarantee the security of the people.

Apart from that, he said since education played a tremendous role in shaping the dreams of any individual, he would institute a scholarship package for the needy.

“Currently I have granted 10 natives of the town scholarships to pursue their basic education,” he said.
