Pastor arrested for alleged murder of woman
A 46-year-old pastor, Felix Bamfo, his wife and son have been arrested in connection with the death of a middle-aged woman, identified as Evelyn Homawu, at Viepe, near Aflao in the Ketu South municipality in the Volta Region.
The three were arrested after the police found the dismembered body of the woman, 47, in a carrier bag, popularly called ‘Ghana-must-go’ about 50 metres from the pastor’s residence.

At the time the body was found, the woman’s limbs, breasts and private parts had been removed.
According to the Volta Regional Police Commander, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Nana Asomah Hinneh, Ms Homawu was reported to have left her residence at Taifa-Burkina in Accra last Sunday to visit the pastor, who resides at Aflao.
Apprehension
However, the husband of the deceased, Mr Kobla Wohoye, on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 reported to the police at Denu that his wife was missing after he could not reach her on phone.
Nana Hinneh said Mr Wohoye became more apprehensive when his enquiries with Pastor Bamfo, also the overseer of the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star Church at Adidogome in Togo, revealed that Evelyn had not arrived at Aflao, where she had intended to visit the pastor.
According to the regional commander, the police at Viepe were informed that the dismembered body of a woman in a ‘Ghana-must-go bag’ had been found at an obscure corner near the residence of Pastor Bamfo.
“We moved in, and the body was identified to be that of the missing woman. So we arrested Pastor Bamfo, his son and wife for interrogation.”
DCOP Hinneh said the body of the deceased had been deposited at the Ketu South Municipal Hospital morgue for further investigations.
